A Three Pound Barrel of Polished Stones from Riverton

Today a 3lb barrel of stones collected from Riverton beaches last year finished the tumble-polishing process. Altogether, 46 stones came out of the barrel, some with the odd blemish, but many in excellent order, well polished and free from chips and cracks.

Some of these stones are impressive on both sides:

Some are colourful and bright:

Others are more muted, darker, but nonetheless fascinating:
