So January 24th is my birthday and this year I went pebble hunting on our local beach (UK North East) and found something very similar which I think is a Rhomb-Porphyry from Oslo.
Hi Jo! Thanks for your comment. And thanks also for the suggestion about its identification – I have not been aware of rhomb-porphyry before. I see that it is rare outside of Norway, so am not sure it would occur down here in New Zealand. However, there is a definite similarity. I will add to the Post regarding this. Thanks! John
