This is another recently tumble-polished stone collected from Gemstone Beach during my “Southern Sojourn” at the start of this year. It seems to be made up of lots of little pieces of quartz, with maybe iron oxide washed through them to produce the colour.
It was the light reddish-purple band on Side A that caught my eye.
I also find stones made up of lots of tiny pieces of quartz to be quite appealing, and they often tumble-polish well. This stone emerged from the tumbling very smooth and shiny.
