
It was in June 2021 that I first visited Timaru South beach, at the Scarborough Road end, on my way south on a South Island fossicking trip. On my way back north, I stopped off at the Ellis Road end of the beach, on a foggy South Canterbury day. - “Early 2024 Fossicking Trip – Part 1, “So Many Miles…” Ward Beach, Timaru and Kakanui, Tuesday 13 February and Wednesday 14 February” – On Wednesday, I stopped off at Timaru South and spent just over an hour walking south towards the lighthouse and back.
- “March 2025 Stone Collecting Trip – Part 2, Lunch at Timaru South, Friday 28 February” – I collected 32 stones walking south from the carpark at the end of Scarborough Road to Mutu Mutu Point and back.
