An Annotated Index of Indexes on TumbleStone Blog To Date

For some types of Posts and some Series of Posts, I have developed an Index (or linked Series of Indexes) to aid the quick and efficient finding of their content. Here are the Indexes on the Blog to date, in chronological order:

1) The First Five Musical Pieces on TumbleStone (Posted July 2019) – Some Posts use music, especially embedded YouTube clips. This is the first of a number of annotated Indexes to these Posts. There is also information provided on the musician and why I chose to include the song. A link at the end of each of these Indexes takes you to the next one. The second Index list the next five pieces, the third Index lists 10 pieces, the fourth Index lists another five, and the fifth lists 10.

2) Six Past TumbleStone Posts of Interest to Beginning Tumble Polishers (September 2019) – Includes links to and comments on the contents of such Posts as “What Do I Need to Start Tumble Polishing Stones Myself? And What Will It Cost Me?” and “The Seven Stages in Tumble Polishing Stones”.

3) South Island Stone Collecting Trip, May/June 2020 – Index and Contents (Posted December 2020) – Index to a Series of five Posts which describe a three-week stone collecting trip to the South Island by car.

4) Summary Index of Stones of the Pandemic (June 2020) – At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in New Zealand, I posted a stone every day during Alert Level Four (33 stones) and for three days a week during the last days of Alert Level Three (2 stones) and during Alert Level Two (12 stones).

5) Index to Facebook Group Alphabetical Series (July 2021) – My “A to Z” entries to the Facebook Group “New Zealand Lapidary, Rocks, Minerals, Fossils” when the Administrators invited members to submit photos each week of a stone, mineral or fossil in their collection that starts with a letter of the alphabet. My first entry, for example, was “A” is for “Amygdaloidal”.

6) Index to January 2022 Stone of the Day (January 2022) – I posted one stone each day during this month, along with comments about such things as when it was found, the beach, and the type of stone. For example, the Post on Stone #2, a Gemstone Beach breccia, included information on the giant landslides of Fiordland which could have been its source.

7) Index to February-March 2022 Fossicking Trip: Stone of the Day (February 2022) -For four weeks, I travelled in the south of the South Island. I visited a number of beaches and posted a Stone of the Day each day, usually a stone found that day. All 27 Posts also include other stones found during the trip.

8) Index to June-July 2022 Fossicking Trip (July 2022) – A Series of 19 Posts about a day’s fossicking during this trip, from Ward Beach to Gemstone Beach.

9) Index to “Southern Sojourn 2023” Series: Part One, Posts 1 to 12 (March 2023) – From mid-January to early May 2023 I lived in Riverton Aparima, using it as a base for fossicking visits to southern beaches. This Series consists of 60 Posts on the beach visits I made during this time. This Index is one of five, each referring to 12 Posts. There is a link at the end of the first four to the next Index.
